John McNally

John McNally is an operations specialist in gas and oil field production. He deploys stochastic reserve planning techniques to maximize IRR on field development and determine well abandonment.

John started his career at Gulf Oil in Calgary in production planning and equipment maintenance scheduling. At Philips Petroleum in Oklahoma, he analyzed trends in past repair costs and developed strategies to minimize future maintenance expenses. He was responsible for non-compliant wells in the Permian basin that were candidates for abandonment.

He earned a B.Sc in basic chemical processes at The University of Calgary, and an M.Sc in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas.
