Janie Castle

Janie Castle is a cross border restructuring specialist. She advises Trimingham's clients on U.S. and European restructuring strategies.

A U.S. attorney and U.K. solicitor by training, Janie started her restructuring career in 1986 in Miami where her activities included acting for an Irish aircraft leasing company having a $1 billion claim in the Braniff Airlines bankruptcy, for JP Morgan as Agent in the $275 million credit for Prime Motor Inns, and as lead workout counsel for Motorola in restructuring its portfolio of vendor leases and loans. In 1999, she joined the law firm of Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP in London, where she worked on matters related to Enron, and aircraft leasing, portfolio restructurings, and securitizations for ILFC/AIG, debis airFInance and GE Capital

She is a lecturer at The University College London Law School graduate LLM course in comparative insolvency and bankruptcy laws. Janie is a graduate of The University of Miami School of Law in Florida.
